Citizenship of Latvia

The Government of Latvia provides for the issuance of Citizenship to foreigners for investment in the economic development of the country. According to the Latvian Immigration Law, each applicant must legally reside in the territory of the state for 10 years in order to be granted citizenship. It is possible to obtain the status of a resident of Latvia through a simplified procedure by making a financial investment in one of the approved investment options. The applicant is issued a residence permit for a period of five years and after which it is possible to obtain permanent residence. Five years after receiving permanent residence, the applicant has the right to apply for Latvian citizenship.

REGISTRATION OF CITIZENSHIP OF LATVIA THROUGH INVESTMENTS:

Obtaining Latvian Citizenship through investment provides for the mandatory registration of a residence permit and permanent residence. According to the legislation of Latvia, the investor must pay the state fees prescribed by law and make a financial investment in one of the following investment options:

  1. Equity capital of a new or existing enterprise in Latvia from 50,000 euros to 100,000 euros with more than 50 employees and an annual turnover of up to 10,000,000 euros;

    2. A residence permit is issued for 3 months for a period of 5 years.

  2. Subordinated capital from 280,000 euros;

    3. A residence permit is issued for 3 months for a period of 5 years.

  3. Purchase of interest-free special-purpose bonds from 250,000 euros;

    4. A residence permit is issued for 3 months for a period of 5 years.

  4. Purchase of real estate property in the territory of Latvia from 250,000 euros;

    5. A residence permit is issued for 3 months for a period of 5 years.

General requirements for the applicant:

  1. no criminal record;
  2. citizenship of a non-EU country;
  3. age of majority;
  4. obtaining a health certificate of the applicant;
  5. availability of a valid travel document;
  6. availability of a receipt for payment of the state fee;
  7. confirmation of the official source of income.

CITIZENSHIP OF LATVIA BY INVESTMENT PROGRAM:

  1. Selection of investment option;
  2. Collection and submission of documents;
  3. Making a financial contribution;
  4. Obtaining a residence permit and living in Latvia;
  5. Applying for and obtaining citizenship.

If all investment conditions and requirements for the period of residence are met, you apply for obtaining Latvian citizenship. After government approval, you are issued a certificate of citizenship, on the basis of which the internal documents of Latvia are drawn up.

Receipt time: 10 years



Cost of support for obtaining Latvian Citizenship:

  • 30,000 euros per applicant;
  • 50,000 euros for spouse and applicant;
  • 65,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and one child;
  • 80,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and two children;
  • 20,000 for each additional family member.
