Citizenship of Spain

Spanish citizenship by investment is possible in several ways.
The first is through the accelerated acquisition of a residence permit under the golden visa program "Golden Residence Permit". To obtain a residence permit type, you need to open an investor visa and make an investment in the state economy. The process of acquiring the status of a Spanish citizen is regulated by Law No. 14 of 2013 on the support of entrepreneurs and their internationalization and the Law on Citizenship. Investments are made in business, real estate, securities or in the banking sector. Residence permit in Spain is valid for 1 year and can be extended for a period of 2 years. A permanent residence permit is granted to an investor after five years of residence in Spain. It is possible to apply and obtain Spanish citizenship after 10 years of permanent residence.

OPTIONS FOR REGISTRATION OF CITIZENSHIP OF SPAIN THROUGH INVESTMENT:

  • through the purchase of government securities from €2,000,000;
  • registration of a business, purchase of shares of Spanish companies, contribution to investment funds, registration of bank deposits from 1,000,000 €;
  • acquisition of one or more properties from 500,000 €.

The general requirements for maintaining investments for all options are five years.

Requirements for investors:

the presence of citizenship of a state that is not part of the European Union;
age over 18 years;
a health insurance policy issued by an authorized Spanish company;
no criminal record in Spain and the country of permanent residence;
sufficient financial resources to provide the investor and his family for the period of residence in the country.

Minimum investment amount: From €500,000

Receipt time: 10 years



Cost of support for obtaining Spanish Citizenship:

  • 30,000 euros per applicant;
  • 70,000 euros for spouse and applicant;
  • 100,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and one child;
  • 130,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and two children;
  • 25,000 for each additional family member.
