Citizenship of the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is one of the thirty countries in the world with the highest standard of living. Czech immigration law provides for the observance of certain conditions and norms by applicants for citizenship.

  • the presence of a residence permit when applying for citizenship;
  • the total period of legal stay within the Czech borders should not be less than three years out of five, depending on the immigration program;
  • the national law enforcement authorities must give the candidate for Czech Citizenship an official confirmation that he has not been brought to the police;
  • must have a permanent legal source of income, which makes it possible to support an immigrant and his family without the help of social services of the state;
  • recognition by the candidate of the norms of the Czech legislation and the Constitution of the country;
  • have a certificate of passing tests for knowledge of the Czech language and speak it at a sufficiently high level;
  • passing a test for integration into Czech society, knowledge of its traditions and rules.

List of documents for obtaining citizenship of the Czech Republic:

  1. a valid foreign passport;
  2. four photographs;
  3. birth certificates;
  4. a document that is the basis for staying in the country;
  5. autobiography;
  6. marriage certificate;
  7. certificates of the absence of problems with the Czech law;
  8. a written explanation of the further status of the previous citizenship;
  9. certificates from the tax authorities of the country on the absence of arrears in payments to the budget;
  10. confirmation of the availability of housing within the Czech Republic or a long-term lease agreement;
  11. health document.

Cost of support for obtaining Czech Citizenship:

  • 70,000 euros per applicant;
  • 140,000 euros for spouse and applicant;
  • 175,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and one child;
  • 205,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and two children;
  • 50,000 for each additional family member.
