This can only be done in person, with an original valid driver’s license and an apostilled copy of the driver’s license.

Required documents:

VU original and apostilled scanned copy;

international passport;

birth certificate and apostilled scanned copy.

Exchange procedure:

Personal consultation;

- international passport (scanned copy of all pages in one PDF file)
- driver's license and scanned copy with apostille PDF
- birth certificate and scanned copy with apostille PDF
Advance 5.500 euros.
Translation of documents;
Agreeing on the date of the initial interview, approximately 3 weeks later;
eservation of arrival date;
ayment of state fees;
The applicant must arrive at least 1 day before the agreed date;
Client’s arrival for 12 days, meeting at the airport;
Submitting documents for a residence permit in Uruguay;
Day 1. Submission of documents to the immigration office, personal interview;
Day 2. Applying for Uruguay ID card (called cedula)/
Taking biometrics. ID production time is five working days;
Day 7. Receiving a sedula, driver's medical examination;
Day 8. Replacement of license, obtaining a driver's license.
Advance 4000 euros.

Only category A, B (motorcycle, passenger).

The validity period of a Uruguayan license is 10 years.

There are no marks about the replacement made.
