Andorra is not the most popular country for emigration, but Andorra is underestimated as excellent environmental conditions, high-quality medical services and a high standard of living are one of the most significant advantages of this state. Low taxation, thanks to which Andorra attracts investors and makes Andorra very attractive for investors, and in exchange for investments, the Andorran authorities offer a residence permit program for investments. The minimum investment amount is 400,000 euros, and at the same time, the investor does not retain the right to work in the country, but will be able to enjoy favorable taxation conditions.

  • it is possible to include children and spouse in the application for a residence permit.
This type of residence permit in Andorra is called a “passive residence”, since emigrants / investors are prohibited from working in the state. The main condition is that the amount of investment cannot be less than 400,000 euros. Of these, 50,000 euros are sent to a special bank account as proof of the candidate's ability to pay. The remaining 350,000 euros is invested capital. The money is kept for the duration of the resident status. The money will be returned to the emigrant after the expiration of the residence permit and if his family moves with the main applicant, the amount of the security deposit is increased by 10,000 euros for each family member. The added amount will be deducted from the main investment. 350,000 euros is the main investment and can be invested at your own discretion in business, real estate, stocks or simply put on an interest-free deposit in a bank.
Initially, a residence permit is issued for two years and then it can be extended for another same period, and then for three years. After seven years of continuous possession of a residence permit, a residence permit is issued for a period of ten years - an analogue of permanent residence. After 17 years of living in Andorra, it is possible to apply for citizenship, but after writing a renunciation of the previous citizenship.

Requirements for candidates who have received an Andorran residence permit and tax rates:

  1. The applicant must not have a criminal record;
  2. Must have medical insurance;
  3. It is required to pass a medical commission;
  4. It is necessary to prove that the applicant's income is sufficient from 36,000 euros per year for the candidate himself and 12 thousand for each family member;
  5. Availability of real estate in Andorra - rent or purchase;
  6. Holders of a residence permit of this type must reside in the country for at least three months a year;
  7. Income of an individual up to 24,000 euros per year is not taxed, up to 40 thousand - only 5%, and income above this figure is taxed at a rate of 10%.

List of required documents:

Foreign and civil passports;

A certificate confirming the absence of a criminal record in each state where the applicant has lived over the past ten years;

Photo of a passport sample;

A document confirming the presence of real estate in Andorra;

Certificate of marital status from the registry office;

Insurance;

Declaration of income;

Employment book or recommendations from places of employment for the last five years;

Documents confirming tax deductions for the last five years;

12 passport size color photos.

If children are applied for a residence permit together with the main candidate, additional documents are required:

  1. a scan of the passport;
  2. birth certificate;
  3. certificate of passing all necessary vaccinations;
  4. certificate of school attendance, which indicates the years of study and completed classes;
  5. health certificate.

Together with the residence permit of Andorra, the candidate acquires certain rights and obligations:

  1. The right to reside all year round in Andorra, it is obligatory to stay in the country for at least 90 days a year;
  2. You can become a tax resident and enjoy the country's favorable taxation conditions;
  3. Despite the fact that employment for investors is prohibited, it is possible to receive passive income, for example, from renting out real estate in Andorra;
  4. Visa-free entry to France, Spain and Portugal;
  5. This residence permit can be extended an unlimited number of times, and after 17 years after obtaining the first residence permit, citizenship can be requested.

Stages of obtaining a residence permit in Andorra:

  • Opening a bank;
  • Making a security deposit to the account;
  • Acquisition or rental of real estate;
  • Submission of an application to the Andorran Migration Service;
  • Interview - after reviewing the documents, the applicant may be invited for an interview;
