Residence permit of Cypus through investment

A residence permit in Cyprus, and then permanent residence, can be obtained not only by investing in residential real estate and commercial real estate, but also in companies and investment funds.
At the beginning of June 2022, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus decided to change the criteria for issuing permits for obtaining a residence permit to investors and the main factors necessary for obtaining a residence permit of the Republic were the reliability of the applicants and their financial stability, which will ensure a decent standard of living on the island.

Conditions for obtaining a Cyprus residence permit through purchase:

  • support for local businesses and investment in an investment fund;
  • purchase of residential New real estate required under the terms of the program up to a maximum of two objects;
  • purchase of commercial premises, namely the acquisition of offices, shops, hotels or one or two objects with a total value of 300,000 euros;
  • purchase of one apartment or house;
  • purchase of 2 apartments or two houses or an apartment and a house;
  • purchase of one apartment or house and one store or warehouse or office or hotel;
  • purchase of one store or warehouse or office or hotel;
  • purchase of two shops or warehouses or offices or hotels.

Conditions of the program to Cyprus companies for investments in company shares:

Registration in Cyprus;

A permanent office on the island is required;

More than five people are required to be employed.

Program - Acquisition of shares in investment funds:

alternative investment funds with an unlimited number of persons;

alternative investment funds with a limited number of persons up to 75 investors;

registered alternative investment funds.

The amount for investing in shares of investment funds to obtain a residence permit is from 300,000 euros.

Conditions for obtaining a residence permit for an investor:

  1. It is required to open a deposit in any bank on the island with an amount of 30,000 euros;
  2. No criminal record;
  3. It is required to have a business in Cyprus and make a profit from it;
  4. It is required to confirm the annual income outside the territories of Cyprus, which must be more than 30,000 euros, for each family member the amount of annual income increases by 5,000 euros.

After approval of the residence permit, you are required to submit biometric data in Cyprus and receive a Cyprus PR card. The investor and family members who were included in the application and to confirm permanent residence are required to stay in Cyprus at least once a year.


After five years of living in Cyprus, you can apply for citizenship and a Cypriot passport will provide visa-free access to more than 173 countries around the world.

Receipt time: 12 months


Cost of support for obtaining a residence permit in Cyprus:

  • 55,000 euros per applicant;
  • 100,000 euros for spouse and applicant;
  • 130,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and one child;
  • 160,000 euros for the applicant’s spouse and two children;
  • 40,000 for each additional family member.
